Monday, November 18, 2013BOARDMAN, Ohio -- Just in time for the holiday shopping season, a family-owned and operated jewelry store, established eight years ago, is open at a new location on the Route 224 strip.
CarloMagno’s World of Gold Jewelers cut the ribbon this morning at 813 Boardman-Poland Road in the Presidential Square plaza. The business had “outgrown” its former store in Liberty, where it resided since 2009. CarloMagno’s was first established in Hubbard in 2007.
OEPA Consults States on Midstream Operations

Longest Lateral: Consol Innovates Efficiencies

There, just outside the hamlet of Mamont about 30 miles east of Pittsburgh, CNX Gas Co. LLC has drilled the longest lateral leg of a horizontal well to date in the Marcellus shale. The company has also earned that same distinction in eastern Ohio’s Utica shale.
“They’re starting to stretch that envelope,” says Jeffery Boggs, vice president of drilling for Consol Energy Corp., parent of CNX. “The longer the lateral, the more pay zone you have.”
Valerlus Gets Order from EQT Corp.
Saturday, November 16, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Valerus has been awarded a contract from Pittsburgh-based EQT Corp. to provide 15,000 HP of compression for two compression stations in southwest Pennsylvania.
Valerus said it will assemble the large horsepower components in their Smithfield, Pa., facility beginning in this month. Compression and other mission-critical equipment will be deployed in the Marcellus and Utica shale fields leveraging Valerus and other local companies. Local hiring in the Valerus facility is expected to increase, the company said.
