Regional Chamber Will Mark 20 Years at Annual Meeting
Monday, March 03, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will celebrate its 20th anniversary during its annual meeting and luncheon.
Scheduled for March 20, the event will be held at Mr. Anthony’s Banquet Center in Boardman.
The luncheon sponsor is Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield, and the awards are being underwritten by Farmers National Bank. Check-in and lunch begins at 11:15 a.m. followed by the program and awards presentation at noon.

Casinos Are America's New Senior Centers, Study Finds

Since the mid-1970s, the number of seniors visiting casinos has more than doubled, a rate surpassing other age groups.
Ohio Sets Record for Concealed-Carry Licenses in 2013
Monday, March 03, 2014COLUMBUS, Ohio -- More than 145,000 concealed-carry licenses were issued in Ohio last year, the state attorney general’s office reports. This is the largest number since the licensing began in 2004.
County sheriffs issued 96,972 new licenses and 48,370 renewal licenses in 2013, or 145,342 licenses in total. The previous record was set in 2012 when 64,650 new licenses and 76,810 total licenses were issued.
The previous record for renewal licenses was 2008, the first year licenses could be renewed, when 31,139 licenses were renewed.

Tim Hortons Coming to 25 Area Gas Stations in 2015
Friday, February 28, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Tim Hortons Inc. restaurants will open units in 25 area gas stations next year under an agreement being worked out with a franchisee, confirmed a spokeswoman for the chain.
Tim Hortons is a quick-service chain that offers a menu that includes its signature coffee, hot and cold specialty drinks , specialty teas and fruit smoothies and sandwiches, wraps and other food products. Founded in Canada in 1964, the chain’s first U.S. restaurant opened in 1984. It has 4,485 restaurants worldwide, including 859 in the United States as of December 2013.
