CEO's Confidence Dips, But Remains Strong"

"Despite the dip in overall confidence, CEOs are very upbeat about the outlook for the next six months," said Lynn Franco, director of The Conference Board's Consumer Research Center.

Ohio BMV Renews Contract With Cboss Internet
Wednesday, July 07, 2004BOARDMAN TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles has contracted with Cboss Internet for another five years to upgrade and host its online license plate renewal system, OPLATES.com. The Web site was designed and built by Cboss Internet, and deployed for the state in December 2000.OPLATES.com is the largest single source of license registrations for the state of Ohio with over 40,000 transactions monthly, according to Ralph Zerbonia, general manager of Cboss. The Web site handles close to a half million online transaction per year.

Wednesday, July 07, 2004WHEELING, W.Va. -- Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp. has completed more than half of a demolition program that is expected to generate in excess of $1.1 million in scrap-steel savings. The program, which began in the first quarter and is expected to be completed by late summer, involves the demolition of buildings and permanently idled mill and railroad equipment at all six of the company's primary and finishing plants.The scrap is being cut to size for use in the company's basic oxygen furnace (BOF). Wheeling Pitt will use all the ferrous scrap from the demolition program.

Wednesday, July 07, 2004OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- The overwhelming majority of Americans say people are less courteous today when using a wireless phone, but everyone looks the other way when it comes to pointing the finger of blame, according to the 2004 Sprint Wireless Courtesy Report released today.Nearly three out of four (73%) U.S. adults surveyed say people are less courteous in general today than five years ago, and 80% feel people are less courteous when using a wireless phone today than five years ago.

Ohio AG Debt Collections Set Record
Wednesday, July 07, 2004COLUMBUS, Ohio - State Attorney General Jim Petro's Collections Enforcement Section brought in a record $177 million in the last year. The section is responsible for collecting past due debts owed to the state of Ohio and collects everything from unpaid tax bills and fraudulent workers' compensation and unemployment claims to debts owed to state colleges and universities.For fiscal year 2004, the section brought in $177 million, up from $157 million in 2003 and $127 million in 2002.
