Edge Factor Host Talks Manufacturing at MCCTC

There was a snowmobile racer whose leg was amputated after an accident that designed a new prosthetic that, allowing him to continue competing.
Along the way was an engineer for SpaceX, the company recently awarded a $2.6 billion contract to design “space taxis” for NASA, who started his career building guitars in California.
PNC Survey Shows Ohio Business Owners Cautious
Friday, October 03, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – James Kerrigan, owner of Kerrigan Insurance in Hubbard, expects sales, profits and hiring to remain steady over the next few months.
“Insurance is an up-and-down business,” he remarked. “It’s been steady for 30 years. I’m busy all the time.”
Kerrigan’s expectations generally fall in line with those of other owners of small and midsize businesses in Ohio who participated in the latest PNC Economic Outlook Survey, which was released Thursday.
Ohio at Forefront of Air Emissions Reduction

Great Value Colleges Notes Grove City for Affordability
Friday, October 03, 2014GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Grove City College is ranked sixth on the list of Greatest Affordable Colleges in the Northeast by Great Value Colleges. The website cited the College’s high freshmen retention rate and that 96% of alumni are working or in graduate school within six months after graduation.
The website, in a survey released this week, also praised the fact that students have many opportunities to join clubs, organizations and activities on campus.
Cohen Bolsters Commitment to Downtown with Lease
Thursday, October 02, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The commitment of Cohen & Co. to downtown Youngstown has been reinforced with a long-term lease with the Ohio One Corp. to remain in the Commerce Building.
Ohio One is in midst of renovating and expanding the office space of the public accounting firm on the fourth floor of the five-story structure on East Federal Street.
There, workmen from Alex Downie & Sons Co. are taking the 6,000 square feet Cohen occupies and enlarging that space to 8,100 feet, which includes the conference rooms of the former Youngstown Club.
Meeting Set for Proposed Interchange Project
Thursday, October 02, 2014COLUMBUS, Ohio -- An informational meeting about an interchange to provide access to state Route 164 from Interstate 680 in Beaver Township is scheduled for Oct. 16 at the Ohio Department of Transportation’s North Lima outpost, 10720 Market St.
The proposed transportation improvement will be separated into three separate phases. The project includes a new interchange north of Route 164 as well as pavement reconstruction, a roundabout and new lane configurations along Route 164.

Chevy Cruze Sales Rev Up 45% in September
Thursday, October 02, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Though it wasn't the vehicle's highest selling month in terms of volume, the Chevrolet Cruze saw sales soar nearly 45% in September compared to the same month a year ago, General Motors Co. reported yesterday.
GM said it delivered 18,415 Cruzes during the month versus 12,730 units sold in September 2013, a 44.7% increase.
The Cruze, manufactured at GM's Lordstown Complex, is GM's best-selling passenger car and is second in volume sales only to the Chevrolet Silverado, continuously the highest seller in the automaker's portfolio.
