GM Sales Up 3% Last Month; Chevy Cruze Sales Up 27%
Tuesday, December 04, 2012DETROIT – General Motors Co. reported sales rose 3% in November compared to the same period last year, while Chrysler Group LLC said its numbers climbed 14%.
The two automakers turned in their best November sales since 2007, much of it because of replacement buying as a result of Hurricane Sandy's destructive path along the East Coast in late October.
And, Ford Motor Co., Toyota Motor Corp. and Honda Motor Corp. also posted higher sales for the month.

Company Holiday Parties? Workers Say, ‘Bah, Humbug!’
Tuesday, December 04, 2012TORONTO -- Many workers are saying "Bah, humbug!" to company holiday parties, a new OfficeTeam survey suggests. Although 77% of senior managers interviewed said their employer is holding a holiday celebration this year, only 55% of employees give the festivities high marks.
Just under 20% of respondents said their companies don't plan to hold a holiday party this year. Perhaps that's for the best because 45% of the workers say they don't enjoy company parties at all.
OEPA Holds Workshop Wednesday on Brownfields

Farmers Begins Listing in MSCI USA Micro-Cap Index
Monday, December 03, 2012CANFIELD, Ohio – Beginning today, Farmers National Banc Corp., whose shares are traded on the Nasdaq Exchange, is in the MSCI USA Micro-Cap Index.
The listing formally took effect after markets closed last Friday afternoon, John S. Gulas, president and CEO, announced this morning.
Farmers is one of 37 new stocks to be included in the index of 902 constituents, Gulas said. The index began Nov. 20, 2010.
ISLE Eyes Luncheonette, Bakery for Downtown

Iron and String Life Enhancement Inc., plans to open the Sugar Plum bakery/luncheonette in the former Two Guys Clothing store, at 107 W. Federal St. ISLE purchased the building last year, said Jimmy Sutman, president of the nonprofit organization. Similar to the Touch the Moon Candy Saloon that ISLE operates on Phelps Street downtown, Sugar Plum will be staffed by individuals in ISLE’s programs.

The prop was visible last week along Mahoning Avenue in Austintown as two members of Local 8 of the International Union of Bricklayers and Craftworkers picketed in front of the work site where a Tractor Supply Co. store is under construction.
