The national average is running at $3.63 per gallon so far for 2012, and it’s all but certain that 2012 will go down as the year with the highest average in history.

Gulfport Strikes it Even Bigger with Belmont Well
Thursday, November 29, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Gulfport Energy Corp. has struck gold once again with its second shale gas well on the Shugert property in Belmont County.
The company, based in Oklahoma City, announced Tuesday that its Shugert 1-12H well tested at an average of 28.5 million cubic feet of natural gas, 300 barrels of oil, and 2,907 barrels of natural gas liquids per day. When combined, the peak production rate amounts to 7,482 barrels of oil equivalent per day, by far the best performing well in the Utica shale and all of Ohio.

Innovations Exhibits Displays Trade Show Options
Thursday, November 29, 2012BOARDMAN, Ohio – Customers are looking at smaller trade show displays, but Steven Gable, president of Innovation Exhibits Inc., says his company is keeping busy. In fact, business is up 20% from last year for family business, which designs and makes displays.
Demand had been “way down” since 2008, he said. “The number of shows companies were attending declined as was the amount of floor space they rented at the shows,” he said. “That seems to be the trend right now -- it’s a smaller footprint.”
Foreclosures Fall, Delinquencies Rise Locally
Thursday, November 29, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Foreclosure rates in the Youngstown-Warren Boardman metropolitan area were down in September from a year earlier, CoreLogic reported.
According to the company, which provides information and analytics on residential properties, the rate of foreclosures in the metro area, which includes Mahoning and Trumbull counties in Ohio and Mercer County in Pennsylvania, was 4.53% in September, down 0.18 percentage points from 4.71% in September 2011. September’s foreclosure rate was also down from the 4.61% rate reported in August.
Steel Imports Decline 2% in October, AISI Reports

Elected officials, those considering running for office, government and school leaders and employees and local business and nonprofit officials are invited to take part.
The nine-week series of classes is geared to help people become effective government leaders. It also gives class members a broad perspective of how local government operations should be conducted, the chamber says.
Ankle & Foot Care Centers Begin Shoe Drive
Thursday, November 29, 2012BOARDMAN, Ohio -- Podiatric physicians and staff from Ankle & Foot Care Centers are urging the community to help the less fortunate by donating new pairs of shoes. The practice, with 18 sites throughout the Mahoning Valley, aims to collect more than 800 pairs of shoes between now and Jan. 4.
A shoe drive collection station has been set up in each office, all accepting new or nearly new shoes. All types of shoes are accepted, both children and adult sizes, and styles that range from casual to dress to athletic, said Michael Vallas, practice administrator.
