Steel Heritage Group Holds Open House Saturday
Friday, June 07, 2013YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown Steel Heritage Foundation is holding an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Youngstown Steel Heritage Museum, 261 Hubbard Road.
The open house will serve as the groundbreaking for the "Hook and Bucket" sculpture that will be built over the summer and dedicated Sept. 21. The "Hook and Bucket" will be a 55-ton, 40-foot tall, full-size representation of the ingot teeming process in a steel mill.
A variety of demonstrations, including blacksmithing, also will take place.
Phantoms Reach Agreement on Covelli Centre Lease
Thursday, June 06, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio --- The Youngstown Phantoms have reached an agreement to remain at the Covelli Centre for a fifth season, team owner Bruce J. Zoldan announced today. The agreement ensures the Phantoms will continue play and practice at the downtown Youngstown arena through the 2013-14 United States Hockey League season, and lays the groundwork for extending the franchise's lease at the facility through future seasons.
Incubator Fundraising Campaign Nears Midpoint

Fully 56% of respondents to a RetailMeNot.com survay say giving new graduates a check or cash is ideal and 19% say the same about gift cards or gift certificates. At the same time, 58% say they spend more on Mother's Day gifts than their partners spend on them on Father's Day.
