Cogistix Buys HBK Building; Plans Renovation, Expansion
Tuesday, December 09, 2014BOARDMAN, Ohio -- Cogistix LLC has purchased the former Hill Barth & King building at 7680 Market St. where it plans to expand operations and install a training center for clients.
The company resells and codes management software for manufacturers. It recently was named to Inc. magazine’s Inc. 5000, which lists the fastest-growing private companies in the nation (READ STORY).
November Wagers Total $66.9M at Austintown Racino
Tuesday, December 09, 2014AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Wagers made on video lottery terminals in the Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course in November were down substantially from the month before, the latest monthly report from the Ohio Lottery Commission shows.
Cash and credits bet in the racino were $66.9 million, down from $79.8 million in October, its first full month of operation since it opened Sept. 17.

Butler Institute to Hold Open House Sunday

The holiday open house, which runs from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, will feature a tour of the museum’s permanent collection led by Dr. Lou Zona, the museum’s director. Funded Status of Corporate Pensions at 89.9%
Tuesday, December 09, 2014NEW YORK -- The funded status of the typical U.S. corporate pension plan increased 0.4 percentage points to 89.9% in November as assets rose faster than liabilities, reports the BNY Mellon Institutional Scorecard from the BNY Mellon Investment Strategy and Solutions Group.
Public defined benefit plans, endowments and foundations beat their targets in November on the strength of rising asset values.
Assets in the typical corporate plan increased 1.5%, outpacing the 1.1% increase in liabilities. Its funded status is down 5.3% from the December 2013 high of 95.2%.

Steel Import Permit Applications Drop 12%
Monday, December 08, 2014WASHINGTON -- Applications for permits to import steel during November totaled 3,938,000 net tons, a 12% decrease from the 4,482,000 permit tons in October and a 10% decrease from the October preliminary imports total of 4,398,000 net tons, the American Iron and Steel Institute reports.
