YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Butler Institute of American Art will host a holiday open house and open a new exhibit with a meet-the-artist event Sunday.
The holiday open house, which runs from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, will feature a tour of the museum’s permanent collection led by Dr. Lou Zona, the museum’s director. The museum is also decorated for the holidays, and visitors that day will also be offered a discount for purchases in the museum’s gift shop and fine art sales gallery.
In addition, complimentary cocoa and holiday treats will be provided by the Collections Café. Visitors also will receive a reproduction of “Lincoln the Railsplitter.” Those interested in attending the event are asked to call 330 743 1107, ext. 123, for more information.
Also taking place that day will be the opening of “Ben Houser: An Alchemist’s Light.” The exhibition, which runs through March 15, features one-of-a-kind darkroom prints. Visitors will be able to meet Hauser at an event Sunday, 1-3 p.m.
