Sterne Agee Financial Acquires WRP Investments

The financial services firm is a subsidiary of Birmingham, Ala.-based Sterne Agee, one of the oldest and largest privately owned financial services firms in the nation. It was founded in 1901.

ODOT Projects: $63.3M in Mahoning, $44.7M in Trumbull
Friday, April 11, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Ohio Department of Transportation’s District 4 will see $433.4 million in projects launch or continue this year, including $63.3 million in Mahoning County and $44.7 million in Trumbull County. That includes $14.4 million in upcoming work in Mahoning and $17.8 million in Trumbull.
General Electric Bringing 1400 Jobs to Cincinnati
Thursday, April 10, 2014COLUMBUS, Ohio -- JobsOhio and its chief investment officer, John Minor, today announced that GE has chosen Greater Cincinnati for its new U.S. Global Operations Center. The project is expected to create 1,400 new jobs in Ohio.
GE will break ground on the facility this summer and expects it to be fully operational by 2017.
Huntington Buys Bank of America Branches in Michigan
Thursday, April 10, 2014COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Huntington Bancshares Inc. today announced it has signed a definitive agreement under which Huntington National Bank will purchase 11 branches in central and east Michigan from Bank of America Corp. Huntington’s acquisition will increase the bank’s Michigan branch total to 173 statewide including 80 locations in the east Michigan region.
Evets Oil & Gas Opens $4M Hubbard Fabrication Plant

Pa. Slot Machines Raise $252M for Race Horse Fund
Thursday, April 10, 2014HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Some 11% of revenues generated from slot machine gambling in Pennsylvania was earmarked for the racing industry and agricultural initiatives in 2013.
As a result, more than $252 million in slot machine tax revenue was generated for the Pennsylvania Race Horse Development Fund.
