YNGAir Partners to Host Airport Open House
Monday, September 24, 2012VIENNA TOWNSHIP, Ohio – YNGAir Partners, the community group formed to support activities at Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport, will host an open house at the airport Wednesday, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
Jason Fink, executive vice president of the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce, will be the keynote speaker and participate in a discussion at the event. The open house is sponsored by the Western Reserve Port Authority, which oversees the airport, and the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber.
HBA’s Home & Harvest Show Opens Friday
Monday, September 24, 2012NILES, Ohio -- The Home Builders & Remodelers Association of The Valley will host the 2012 Home & Harvest Show Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Eastwood Expo Center. Admission is free.
The expo opens at noon Friday and continues from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Whether the visitor is looking to hire an expert or take on a do-it-yourself project, the 2012 Home & Harvest Show should offer him a wide variety of HBA-certified contractors who showcase the newest trends in the home improvements, remodeling and decorating, officials said.
More Purchases for Home than School Supplies
Monday, September 24, 2012ARMONK, N.Y. – In July and August, U.S. consumers shopped not only for clothes and notebooks for their children but also for items for their homes, IBM researchers report.
The biggest retail gains this back-to-school shopping season came from buying goods for the home, which increased 30% in July and more than 25% in August year over year, based on findings by IBM.
While experts speculate that consumers were delaying back-to-school purchases to learn what their peers bought, social networks appeared to drive purchases, with social sales increasing 69.7%.
