Northwood Offers Promise of Sale in 90 Days
Friday, September 21, 2012PITTSBURGH -- Northwood Realty has introduced a "Signed & Sold" offer through which the real estate company promises to sell listed owner-occupied single-family houses within 90 days. Should a house fail to sell, Northwood will credit the seller $500 toward the ultimate commission settlement.
To qualify for “Signed & Sold,” a listing contract for the property must be executed with Northwood by Oct. 31.

Thursday, September 20, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – In a packed chamber Wednesday night, City Council gave a second reading to a measure that would allow the Board of Control to seek competitive bids and lease land the city owns for oil and gas extraction.
Council also gave a second reading to a resolution calling for “stringent regulations by the state of Ohio on oil and natural gas drilling and hydraulic fracturing,” better known as fracking.

City Council OKs Funding for NAMII
Thursday, September 20, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – City Council last night authorized the Board of Control to negotiate terms and enter into an agreement with the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute, also known as NAMII, and the National Center for Defense Machining and Manufacturing.
The city legislature also authorized the Board of Control to extend the $2 million float loan with Erie Terminal Place LLC for an additional six months to March 1, 2013. The letter of credit used as security for the low-interest loan remains in place.

Sales of Houses in Ohio Rose 12.7% in August
Thursday, September 20, 2012COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Sales of residences throughout Ohio increased 12.7% to 11,565 in August, helping the marketplace record its 14th consecutive monthly sales gain. Sales of new and existing houses reached 75,102, posting a 12.9% increase over the first eight months compared to a year ago.
The price of the average house was $145,142, a 5.2% increase from August 2011. Total dollar volume reached $1.7 billion, an 18.8% increase from a year ago.
