90 Employers to Attend YSU Career Fair Oct. 8
Monday, September 30, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Some 90 employers from local, regional, and national companies will participate in the Fall 2013 Career Fair for students and alumni at Youngstown State University from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 8.
YSU Career Services is sponsoring the fair in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Student Center.
Employers will be available to discuss employment opportunities, distribute organizational information and accept resumes, officials said.
Independent Review Commends Pa. Oil and Gas Program

A nonprofit, multi-stakeholder organization called State Review of Oil and Natural Gas Environmental Regulations Inc. conducted the review.

Whitacre Greer Gets $40,000 Workplace Safety Grant
Monday, September 30, 2013COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A Mahoning County manufacturer of pavers and fire brick, Whitacre Greer Co., is one of nine companies in Ohio awarded safety intervention grants last month by the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation.
The program suports employers reduce illnesses and injuries and helps them establish best practices to prevent accidenta and injuries in the workplace.
MarkWest Subsidiary to Buy Youngstown & Southern Rail
Friday, September 27, 2013EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio – Mule Sidetracks LLC, a subsidiary of Denver-based MarkWest Energy Partners LP, has agreed to pay the Columbiana County Part Authority $3 million for the Youngstown & Southern Railroad.
At a special meeting of the port authority Sept. 27, the board voted to accept the offer of Mule Sidetracks. The sale is scheduled to close within 35 days.

In addition, Refresh, which has 450 employees throughout Pennsylvania and Ohio, came in at No. 11 in the Top 100 Ohio companies and No. 35 in Top 100 health companies, said Kenneth Cooper, co-founder and CEO.
