Huntington Bank to Offer Apple Pay in January
Friday, December 19, 2014COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Huntington Bank will offer its customers Apple Pay in January, the bank announced Thursday.
Apple Pay allows consumers to use their smartphones to pay bills for goods and services at more than 220,000 stores and restaurants across the United States.
Huntington describes Apple Pay as “a service transforming mobile payments with an easy, secure and private way to pay.”
EGCC Valley Center to Take Registrations Jan. 10
Friday, December 19, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- A special fast track one-day enrollment for spring semester registration at the Valley Center of Eastern Gateway Community College downtown will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 10. Classes begin Jan. 12.
New students can apply, take free placement testing, talk with an adviser and register for classes. A photo ID is required.

2 Permits Issued Last Week for Columbiana Wells
Thursday, December 18, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Hilcorp Energy Co. received two new permits for horizontal wells in Columbiana County, as that company continues to develop acreage in the northern Utica shale that it acquired more than a year ago in a lease assignment deal with Chesapeake Energy Corp.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources awarded Hilcorp two permits to drill at the Nolker site in Fairfield Township, the agency reported. Last month, Hilcorp secured six permits to drill at the McNicol farm in Fairfield Township, which is part of the Brinker Storage Field.
