Adopt-a-Home Partnership Sells 1st House in Warren
WARREN, Ohio -- Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership, the Trumbull County Land Bank and Gregg’s Gardens say the sale of their first renovated house in Warren’s Garden District closed this week.
The sale results from the newly formed Adopt-a-Home partnership between TNP, the county land bank, Gregg’s Gardens, Trumbull 100 and Bill Casey, owner of Warren Paint and Glass (READ STORY).
Huntington Bank is providing financing for the property at 453 Vine Ave. N.E., which is being sold to first-time homebuyers and longtime residents of Trumbull County.
“Buying this house was an easy choice for us, with all of the improvements being taken care of. The buyer’s nightmares are gone, all that’s left is to make it our own,” said new homeowner Amy Bell.
Casey donated $25,000 to kick off this effort to revitalize the central city neighborhood. The house was the first property selected for rehabilitation. The upgrades included electrical, plumbing and heating improvements as well as replacement of windows, patching and painting of walls, and some exterior work.
Beginning next year, Huntington will work with TNP to offer flexible financing options to buyers of homes owned by the Trumbull County Land Bank in certain census tracts.
