YTD House Sales in 3 Counties on Pace with 2013
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Sales of single-family in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties during the first 11 months of 2014 are on pace with those reported for the same period last year, the latest monthly reports show.
Through November, 4,555 houses were sold in the three counties, just ahead of the 4,548 sold in the three counties during the first 11 months of 2013, according to the Centralized Real Estate Information Services Multiple Listing Service. Members of the Youngstown Columbiana Association of Realtors and the Warren Area Board of Realtors report their monthly sales to the service.
House sales reported for November in the three counties were down slightly from those the same month a year earlier, 386 last month compared with 398 in November 2013.
Sales of single-family units in Columbiana County last month were up from a year ago, while declining in Mahoning and Trumbull counties. In November, 73 houses were sold, an increase from the 59 sold in November 2013 as well as from October’s 69.
In Mahoning County, 165 single-family units were sold last month, down from 176 a year earlier and from 226 in October.
In Trumbull County, 148 houses were sold last month, compared with 163 in November 2013 and with 179 in October.
Year-to-date, 723 houses were sold in Columbiana County, 2,162 in Mahoning County and 1,670 in Trumbull County.
During the first 11 months of 2013, 719 units were sold in Columbiana County, 2,198 in Mahoning County and 1,631 in Trumbull County.
In Columbiana County, the average sale price of a house in November was $101,975, up from $95,714 a year earlier and from $76,805 in October. In Mahoning, last month’s average sale price was $107,522, up from $92,816 in November 2013 and from $93,477 in October. The Trumbull County average selling price last month was $92,415, up from $79,196 a year earlier and from $97,141 in October.
