VTI Travel Purchased by Tennessee Company
Wednesday, November 06, 2013BOARDMAN, Ohio -- Wright Travel, headquartered in Nashville, has purchased Village Traveler, which does business as VTI American Express Travel.
VTI, founded in 1980, employs six at its offices at 725 Boardman-Canfield Road.
According to an announcement from Wright Travel, the purchase of Village Traveler will add about $8 million in business to her company's annual sales.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Chesapeake Boosts Income, Gas Production in Utica
Wednesday, November 06, 2013OKLAHOMA CITY -- Chesapeake Energy Corp. today reported adjusted net income available to common stockholders of $282 million or 43 cents per fully diluted share. This compares to adjusted net income of $35 million, or 10 cents per fully diluted share, for the third quarter of 2012.
Among its operating highlights, Chesapeake cited a 23% increase in net daily oil production during the quarter, up to 120,000 million barrels. The outlook for full-year oil production is potentially 42 million barrels, a 34% increase compared to 2012.

Frack Amendment Loses, McNally Wins Mayoral Race
Wednesday, November 06, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Business leaders are praising Youngstown voters for defeating for the second time the anti-oil and gas, “onerous city charter amendment that could have set back economic development in the Mahoning Valley.
The issue was on the ballot topped by the race for mayor in which Democrat John McNally handily defeat independent DeMaine Kitchen and two other candidates in the race for mayor. McNally and Kitchen both opposed the charter amendment, which was defeated by 1,022 votes.

Quaker Steak Signs Deal for Restaurants in South

I-10 Hospitality, based in Louisiana, plans to open Quaker Steak & Lube restaurants in Beaumont-Port Arthur, Texas; Lake Charles, Lafayette, Baton Rouge and New Orleans, La.; Biloxi-Gulfport, Miss.; Mobile, Ala.. and Pensacola, Fla. over the next five years.
House Prices in Metro Area Rise 5.2%

Ohio Has 4th-Best Business Climate: Site Selection
Wednesday, November 06, 2013ATLANTA -- Site Selection magazine says Ohio has the fourth-best business climate among the 50 states, and the executives it surveyed ranked Ohio as having the 10th-best business climate.
The magazine found that Georgia had the best business climate while the executives surveyed said Texas has the best. Site Selection ranked North Carolina first last year; it came in second this year.
