Scrappers GM Promoted to VP of HWS Baseball
Thursday, November 21, 2013NILES, Ohio -- Jordan Taylor, general manager of the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, has been promoted to vice president-HWS Baseball effective immediately, Michael Savit, managing partner of the HWS Group, announced Wednesday.
Taylor will continue as Scrappers GM as well as have increased involvement in the other teams owned by HWS Baseball owns.

Denver Company Buys D&L Assets for $20.7 Million
Wednesday, November 20, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Northern District of Ohio Tuesday approved the sale of the assets of D&L Energy Inc. to a Denver company for $20.7 million.
Resource Land Holdings LLC emerged as the successful bidder for the assets of the beleaguered energy company that filed for Chapter 11 earlier this year.
According to documents filed with the court, four qualified bidders attended an all-day auction in Cleveland Nov. 13. The auction was continued to Nov. 16 with two buyers present.
Institutions, Individuals Get CityScape Beautification Awards
Wednesday, November 20, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Youngstown CityScape honored a church, three businesses and 13 families and recognized Youngstown State University for its renovation and landscaping of Pollock House Tuesday night at its seventh annual Beautification Watch awards.
Pollock House, restored to its condition in the 1930s, is the home of the president of YSU. The university spent $4 million to restore the mansion designed by architect Charles Owsley.

VXI, Western Union Eye Expansion of New Service
Wednesday, November 20, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- VXI Global Solutions is already looking at further expansion of its downtown call center based on the success of a newly launched program for Western Union Co. that is adding more than 200 customer service positions here, executives say.
From opening on a single floor of the city-owned 20 Federal Place four years ago, VXI has expanded to encompass the fourth and fifth floors of the building, recently added space on the second floor and later this year plans to locate a recruitment center in first-floor space formerly occupied by a radio station.

They see improved real estate markets, have the same levels of intent next year as this to buy a car, make home improvements and more of them intend to take a vacation in 2014 than did this year.
They will use money they have saved to pay for part or all of their purchases, including spending on the holidays, and reduce their reliance on credit cards, Huntington’s Midwest survey found.
Shepherd Names Limongi Executive Director Designee

Kacmar has given more than 30 years of service to Shepherd. Limongi, associate director of Shepherd of the Valley-Boardman, joined Shepherd in 1991.
