U.S. Political Advertising Spending Reaches $1.45 Billion
Monday, November 01, 2004"NEW YORK -- U.S. political advertising spending for 2004 is projected to exceed $1.45 billion, according to data released yesterday by TNS Media Intelligence/CMR. In the first 10 months of 2004, presidential election spending across select measured media reached $601 million, 42% of the total dollars spent on political advertising messages.Federal, state and local election messages, along with ballot issue advertising activity totaled $847 million. The spending period studied runs from March 3 through Oct.

Monday, November 01, 2004"WASHINGTON -- Since the start of the fiscal year, from Oct. 1 through Oct. 22, the U.S. Small Business Administration approved a total of 6,215 loans for a total dollar amount of $1.036 billion in its flagship 7(a) loan guarantee program, according to Hector V. Barreto, administrator.Net of carry-over loan applications received before Oct. 1, the SBA approved 4,669 loans for $659 million. That compares to 4,205 loans approved for just under $644 million for the same period last fiscal year.
Final Harris Internet Poll Suggests a Kerry Victory

The Internet-based poll suggests that Kerry will win the White House today in a narrow victory.Harris Interactive's final online survey shows a three-point lead for Kerry. The final telephone survey, however, shows a one-point lead for President George W. Bush. Both surveys are based on interviews conducted between Oct. 29 and Nov. 1.
