Sunday, January 23, 2005"COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Workplace injuries have been reduced by 30% since fiscal year 1997, according to the results of a recent study conducted by the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation. In fiscal year 2004, there were 184,810 Ohioans injured at work. That number compares favorably to eight years earlier, when more than 263,179 employees were hurt in on-the-job accidents."Working safely and preventing accidents helps to advance Ohio's business climate by keeping productivity high and greatly reducing workers' compensation expenses," said Gov. Bob Taft.

Coronado Steel Gets City Grant to Underwrite Expansion
Friday, January 21, 2005YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The city is providing financial assistance to help a small manufacturing company keep up with its rapid growth.Coronado Steel is building an 8,000-square-foot addition to its plant on Funston Drive, and will receive a $32,250 performance grant from the city to help fund the expansion. The grant was approved at Thursday's meeting of the Board of Control. Development officer Tameka Woodberry said the expansion, estimated to cost $215,000, will enable Coronado to bring fabrication work in-house.
