Covelli Enterprises Considers Headquarters Expansion

Covelli made his remarks Tuesday at the Elm Road Panera Bread Bakery-Cafe after he presented a $15,000 check to the local Toys for Tots campaign. He said his company is continuing to consider options, which include setting up a payroll center somewhere in the community.

30% of Americans Will Travel This Holiday Season

This upward trend marks the fifth consecutive year of increases and the highest travel volume recorded for the season.
The year-end holiday period is defined as Dec. 21 to Jan. 1.
Warren Man Fined for Defrauding Workers' Comp

He pleaded guilty Nov. 18 in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas to a misdemeanor count of theft for working while receiving benefits.

With $200K Grant, YNDC 'Urban Lab' Takes Shape
Tuesday, December 17, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp. plans to use a $200,000 grant next year to acquire and renovate 10 vacant single-family houses in targeted areas of the city.
YNDC's initiative is just one of many the nonprofit has planned in 2014, its executive director, Presley Gillespie, reports.
The organization intends to diversify its efforts through new capital investment initiatives, neighborhood redevelopment programs, and an urban farming program, Gillespie tells The Business Journal.
Halcon Resources Plans 14% Cut in Capital Spending
Tuesday, December 17, 2013HOUSTON -- Halcon Resources Corp. announced Monday that it would reduce its capital spending program for 2014 by 14% while divesting between $300 million and $400 million of its noncore assets.
Halcon said it plans to lower its drilling and completions budget to $950 million next year, “which is inclusive in planned drilling activity in all areas.” The company provided no additional information.
Halcon is a major player in the northern tier of the Utica shale, especially in Trumbull and Mahoning counties.
