Chevrolet Cruze Named 2014 'Fleet Car of the Year'
Tuesday, November 25, 2014DETROIT -- Automotive Fleet and Business Fleet magazines have named the 2015 Chevrolet Cruze has 2014 Fleet Car of the Year, General Motors Co. announced Monday.
Fleet managers from both large and small fleets and covering every fleet segment selected the Cruze as the winner over 48 other cars. The Cruze is built at the GM complex in Lordstown, Ohio.
Kent Trumbull Geologist Studies Landslide

The Markagunt gravity slide, the size of three Ohio counties, is one of the two largest known continental landslides (larger slides exist on the ocean floors).
Packard Museum to Host 'Office Merrymaking'

The event is meant to invoke a “holiday celebration reminiscent of the workplace Christmas parties of yesteryear.” Held among the museum's collection of Packard automobiles from early 1900s, the fundraiser is open to small businesses, clubs and organizations at the cost of $30 per seat.
U.S. Steel to Build New Pittsburgh Headquarters

Tourists Bring $480M Boost to Trumbull County
Monday, November 24, 2014WARREN, Ohio -- Visitors spent nearly $317 million in Trumbull County during 2013, resulting in $480 million in total direct, indirect and induced sales for area businesses, according to a study sponsored by the Ohio Department of Development's Tourism Division.
The study, conducted by Longwoods International and Tourism Economics, based in Wayne, Pa., sampled 200,000 consumers and provided information regarding economic impact, visitor profiles, image, advertising awareness and effectiveness, and return on investment.

Roger and Gloria Jones Endow YSU Scholarships

The couple have long been generous supporters of YSU and other educational efforts in the Mahoning Valley, giving both their time and money. Fireline, based here, manufactures higher-performance ceramics.
Both scholarships, named in honor of the Joneses, are held by the YSU Foundation.
