Thursday, September 16, 2004WARREN, Ohio -- The Board of the Trumbull County Commissioners yesterday granted Champion Molded Plastics, Masury, an enterprise zone agreement intended to help the company expand into additional manufacturing space in Weathersfield.The agreement calls for a 60% tax abatement over 10 years for capital investments in new personal property, reported Mark Zigmont, a planner for the Trumbull County Planning Commission.Champion plans to lease new space at the Niles Commerce Park, and the abatement covers between $2 million and $2.5 million in new machinery, $20,000 to $40,000 in new fixtures and $3

Thursday, September 16, 2004HERMITAGE, Pa. -- Gary Roberts yesterday was elected president and chief executive officer of First National Bank, the banking subsidiary of F.N.B. Corp. (NYSE: FNB). Roberts, the bank's senior executive vice president and chief operating officer, was elected at today's meeting of bank's board of directors. He succeeds Stephen Gurgovits, who has had dual responsibilities as president and CEO of the bank and F.N.B. Gurgovits was elected chairman of the board of First National Bank and will continue as president and CEO of F.N.B.

At the other end of the spectrum, the occupations seen as having the least prestige are real estate agents, stockbrokers, accountants, bankers and journalists.Only two occupations are perceived to have "very great" prestige by more than half of all adults, scientists [52%] and doctors [52%].

Wednesday, September 15, 2004'Are We Scared Enough Yet?'The history of America, from British suppression of the colonists' liberties before the Revolutionary War to passage of the Patriot Act, is one of government trying to restrict freedoms in the name of making citizens' safer.It is also the history of American citizens resisting government efforts to take away liberties and intrude on their privacy. And although this country has successfully resisted government expanding its powers at the expense of the Bill of Rights, that's no guarantee this will always be the case.
