Third Person Charged in D&L Brine Dumping Case
Thursday, March 27, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Another employee of Hardrock Excavating LLC has been charged with criminally dumping drilling wastewater into the Mahoning River, the government said today.
Mark A. Goff, 46, of Newton Falls was charged with one count of violating the Clean Water Act, just days after Hardrock's former president, Ben Lupo, pleaded guilty to similar charges in federal court in Cleveland.

Antero to Supply Ethane for W.Va. Cracker Plant
Thursday, March 27, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Antero Resources has signed an agreement to become the anchor ethane supplier for the proposed Ascent petrochemical complex in Wood County, W.Va.
Under the agreement, announced Wednesday, Antero would provide 30,000 barrels per day of ethane to Ascent, which represents almost half of the volume required to operate the cracker planned for the Parkersburg site.

YSU Alumni Alan and Sandra Baxter Endow Scholarship
Thursday, March 27, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Youngstown State University alumni Alan and Sandra Baxter have donated $100,000 to establish an endowed scholarship for a YSU student pursuing a baccalaureate in education or business administration, the YSU Foundation announced Wednesday. Recipients must be graduates of a high school in Lawrence County, Pa., or Mahoning or Trumbull counties in Ohio.
The scholarship will be awarded annually.
