Airport Seeks Responses to United Airlines Survey
Monday, March 31, 2014VIENNA TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A survey being conducted to help lure service from United Airlines to Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport has elicited more than 600 responses in advance of Friday’s deadline, airport officials report.
“Even with this outstanding response, we believe there may be data not received due to some “glitches” with the survey, said Dan Dickten, the airport’s director of aviation. This results from "some of the surveys being forwarded or emailed to other than the intended original recipients,”

GM Tells Dealers to Stop Selling Certain Cruzes
Friday, March 28, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- General Motors Co. is notifying its Chevrolet dealers to stop selling 2014 and 2013 Chevrolet Cruze models equipped with a 1.4 liter turbo engine.
James Cain, GM senior manager, sales and executive communciations, confirmed the "stop sale" affecting the 1.4-liter model from the 2013 and 2014 years, which represents about 60% of retail sales. He was unable to provide further information regarding the action, and did not expect any to be available later today.

Racing Commission OKs Dates, Permit for Racino

The Ohio State Racing Commission approved a racing permit for the racino, under construction off Route 46 in the township, and the 21 racing dates for the remainder of 2014 after an agreement was reached between Penn National and the Ohio Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association regarding the number of stalls at the site,.

City Buys 8.2 Acres for Entrance to Vallourec
Friday, March 28, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The city will purchase 8.2 acres of property from Norfolk Southern Railway that Vallourec Star will use to improve site access from Route 422.
Under the agreement, which the city’s Board of Control approved during its regularly scheduled meeting Thursday, the city will pay $329,000 for the property, which is located near the Girard border, said Finance Director David Bozanich, one of three city officials who serve on the board. Under a reimbursement agreement with Vallourec, the city will be repaid for the purchase.
