Huntington Bank to Offer Apple Pay in January

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Huntington Bank will offer its customers Apple Pay in January, the bank announced Thursday.
Apple Pay allows consumers to use their smartphones to pay bills for goods and services at more than 220,000 stores and restaurants across the United States.
Huntington describes Apple Pay as “a service transforming mobile payments with an easy, secure and private way to pay.”

Lower Gas Prices Means Paying Down Debt

BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. -- Plunging gas prices have Americans spending $250 million per day less on gasoline than a year ago.
A GasBuddy survey of more than 100,000 respondents finds that 83% will save the difference or reduce debt while only 14% say they will spend it on holiday presents.
Among those planning to travel, 23% said that lower gas prices are affecting their plans. They’ll drive greater distances (29%), buy more gifts (35%), spend more on food (11%) and stay at more expensive lodging (8%).
Most Americans Hold Steady on Holiday Spending

NEW YORK -- Despite lower energy prices, 82% of Americans say they do not plan to spend more this holiday season than last. Only 16% plan to spend more this year -- 5% because of lower gasoline prices and 11% plan to spend more, but not specifically because of gas prices, finds a survey by Banknote.com.
Not spending more was consistent across all demoraphics, whether age, income and education levels, but millennials have the lowest propensity to hold back, Bankrate.com reports. Fully 72% of millennials said they would not spend more compared to 84% to 86% of those older.
Midlothian Restaurant Site Draws Low Bid at Auction
