Dell to Market Turning Technologies Products
Thursday, April 22, 2004YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Coming on the heels of a global distribution agreement with Thomson Higher Education, Turning Technologies, a portfolio company of the Youngstown Business Incubator, has entered into another high value strategic partnership.Dell Inc., a $41.4 billion provider of information technology products, will resell TurningPoint, Turning's classroom response software and hardware. Under the agreement, Dell will market the technology through its existing local, state and federal government, business, health care, K-12 and higher education channels.

Thursday, April 22, 2004By Dan O'BrienYOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Already squeezed by higher costs for materials coupled with dwindling sales, Thermal Ventures Inc. was hit with one more obstacle as City Council all but denied its request for a 15% rate hike.During last night's finance committee meeting, members recommended moving to a second reading an ordinance that would increase rates for downtown customers by only 2% each year over five years. Council approved a second reading during its meeting last night.Thermal Ventures sought a one-time 15% increase for its tariff customers.
Parker Hannifin Raises Annual Dividend for 48th Consecutive Year
Thursday, April 22, 2004CLEVELAND -- The board of directors of Parker Hannifin Corp. today declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.19 per share of common stock payable June 4 to shareholders of record as of May 20. This brings the total current fiscal-year dividends declared to 76 cents, the company reports.With this action, Parker marks its 48th consecutive year in which the company has increased its annual dividends, which are paid quarterly.

Wednesday, April 21, 2004"WASHINGTON -- Housing analysts at the National Association of Home Builders' Construction Forecast Conference yesterday said that even if the Federal Reserve Board begins raising interest rates, the housing industry is moving into a healthier economic environment where job growth and income gains will keep residential construction and sales at healthy levels and buoy house values as well.NAHB Chief Economist David Seiders expects that the federal funds rate, which is currently 1%, will begin to rise in August and increase gradually to about 3% by the end of 2005.
