US Ranks 19th in Number of Citizens Online
Wednesday, September 24, 2014NEW YORK -- More than half the people in the world will have Internet access within three years, says this year’s edition of the State of Broadband Report, issued by the Broadband Commission for Digital Development. Mobile broadband over smartphones and tablets has become the fastest-growing technology in history.
The report, released Tuesday at the 10th meeting of the Broadband Commission, shows that more than 40% of the world's people are already online with the number of Internet users rising from 2.3 billion in 2013 to 2.9 billion by the end of this year.
Youngstown Unemployment Rate Drops 3 Points in Year
Tuesday, September 23, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The unemployment rate for in August for Youngstown fell nearly three percentage points from a year ago, the latest state data show.
Last month, the unemployment rate was 7.7%, down from 10.5% in August 2013 as well as from 9.0% in July, according to data the Ohio Department of Job and Family Service released this morning.
The rate in Warren also showed a significant year-over-year drop to 6.8%, down from 8.9%, as well as from 8.3% in July.

Of those who want and need treatment, only 10% have access to programs, Moliterno emphasized during a press event that hosted U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio.

Sales of Houses Slip as Investors Withdraw
