Bettors Wager $52.9M in Racino’s First 2 Weeks
Wednesday, October 08, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Bettors at the new Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course wagered $52.9 million in cash and credits and won $46.9 million in its first 14 days, the Ohio Lottery Commission reported Tuesday afternoon.
The lottery commission, in its first monthly report of state video lottery terminal revenues since the racino opened Sept. 17, reported racino net proceeds of $5.94 million -- net revenues remaining from credits played minus credits won and less promotional credits ($79,794 for the days open last month) -- and percentage payout of 88.77%.

Neotec to Discuss Export Controls, Arms Regulations

Canfield Business Seeks Votes for Chase Grant Funds
Wednesday, October 08, 2014CANFIELD, Ohio -- Lissa Bell, licensed esthetician and owner of Lissa’s Natural Skin Care, has applied for Chase Bank’s Mission Mainstreet Grant. To be considered for the grant, she must receive 250 votes by Oct. 17.
The grant would assist her in funding the expansion of her local practice and online skin care business, she said.
STEM Education Program Takes Space in Semple
Tuesday, October 07, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Advanced Methods in Innovation program will relocate some of its equipment from Choffin Career & Technical Center to space it will lease in the Youngstown Business Incubator’s Semple Building.
The nonprofit entity, which offers K-12 STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) programming at Choffin, will move its advanced manufacturing/rapid prototyping lab to first-floor space in Semple, says Julie Michael Smith, executive vice president with Applied Systems & Technology Transfer LLC.
