Gateway II Raises $58.5M to Secure Utica Royalties
Tuesday, April 01, 2014CARROLLTON, Ohio -- Gateway Royalty II has raised $58.5 million to acquire oil and gas royalties in eastern Ohio's Utica shale, the company reports.
The company is targeting royalty interests in developing horizontal Utica shale and natural gas plays in Washington, Noble, Guernsey, Monroe, Belmont, Harrison, Carroll and Columbiana counties, the company said.
The principals of the firm previously raised $35 million and secured oil and gas interests on about 20,000 acres in the Utica.

Massage Café Downtown opened in the basement level of the Peggy Ann Building, says Gina DeAngelo, who owns both the original Massage Café in Canfield and the new downtown site. The new store is below the Friends Roastery operating on the ground-floor level.
Pa. Cuts Workers' Comp Insurance Rates Today
Tuesday, April 01, 2014HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Some businesses in Pennsylvania will see a decline in their workers' compensation insurance rates beginning today when a 5.15% rate reduction takes effect.
The Pennsylvania departments of Insurance and Labor & Industry estimate that qualified employers will experience combinned annual savings in workers' compensation insurance costs of approximately $140 million. This marks the third workers' compensation insurance decrease since 2012 with total savings approximately $410 million.

Gecko Robotics Gets $10K from Ben Franklin

CFOs Less Optimistic after 1st-Quarter Bounce Fizzles
Tuesday, April 01, 2014NEW YORK -- The nation's chief financial officers are less optimistic about the growth prospects of their organizations this year than they were at the start of each of the previous three years, a Deloitte CFO Signals survey finds. And, the survey found, CFOs’ year-over-year earnings projections hit an all-time low of 7.9% compared to 12.1% one year ago.
Despite their tentativeness, however, most CFOs continue to indicate a bias toward growth over reducing costs and are still focused on pursuing opportunities rather than limiting risk, according to the CFO Signals survey.
