Bid Express Comes to State Construction Agency

The executive director of the commission, Richard Hickman, says Bid Express, an Internet-based bidding information service, as the vehicle for contractors to submit their sealed bids on all multiple-prime and general contracting projects his office manages.

GM's February Sales Up 7%, Cruze Sales Down 12.1%
Friday, March 01, 2013DETROIT -- General Motors Co. announced today that it sold 224,314 vehicles in the United States in February, up 7% compared to February 2012. Retail sales and fleet sales were both up 7%. The fleet mix was 25% of total sales, equal to a year ago, GM said.
Sales of the Chevrolet Cruze, built in Lordstown, Ohio, totaled 17,947 in Feburary, down 12.1% from February 2012, when 20,427 Cruze models were sold. Year-to-date, 32,471 Cruzes have been sold, GM said, down 8.5% from the first three months of 2011.

Halcón Resources Plans to Drill 20+ Wells in Utica
Friday, March 01, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The top executive from Halcón Resources Inc. reports that its first two wells in the Utica shale should be tested in April, "with more wells following each and every month."
During a conference call Thursday, Floyd C. Wilson, chairman and CEO of the Houston-based company, told analysts that Halcón is delineating the 130,000 acres it holds in the Utica play, which includes drilling operations in Trumbull County in Ohio and Mercer County in western Pennsylvania.
Marty E. Adams Joins Boards of UCFC, Home Savings

Adams, who took the helm of a small community bank, Citizens Bank in Salineville, and oversaw its growth into Sky Financial Corp. with $18 billion in assets, is the newest director of United Community Financial Corp. and its subsidiary, Home Savings and Loan Co.
UCFC announced Thursday that Adams, age 59, was elected to both boards Monday. He serves on the compliance and risk management committee of Home Savings and the capital committee of UCFC, according to the Form 8-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission by the holding company.
