Rex Energy Puts 6 Utica Wells into Sales Pipeline
Wednesday, January 21, 2015STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Rex Energy Corp. has placed the six-well J. Hall pad in Guernsey County, Ohio, into sales at an average rate of 2,365 barrels of oil per day, per well. The company says its Utica wells produced 43% natural gas liquids, 36% dry gas and 21% condensate.
The six wells on the pad were drilled to an average lateral length of approximately 4,900 feet and tested 600-foot spacing between the laterals on the pad, the company said. The wells were completed with an average of 32 frac stages and sand concentrations exceeding 2,000 pounds per foot.
ACH Takes Over Pediatrics at St. Joseph Warren
Wednesday, January 21, 2015WARREN, Ohio -- Akron Children’s Hospital has taken over operation of the pediatric unit at Mercy Health Youngstown’s St. Joseph Warren Hospital.
Akron Children’s assumed pediatric operations at 8 a.m. Tuesday, ACH spokeswoman Annie Sofran says. The two hospitals signed an agreement last spring for Akron Children’s to operate the five-bed pediatric unit as well as a six-bed special care nursery, which will open later this year.
Home Savings Foundation Donates to YWCA Art Event

$500 Less on Average to Insure Homes, Cars
Tuesday, January 20, 2015COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The average insurance premiums Ohioans pay are among the lowest in the country, Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor reported Tuesday. The annual homeowner and auto insurance premiums, when combined, are nearly $500 below national averages.
According to data for 2012, the most recent year available, Ohioans paid an average of $725 -- ninth lowest -- for homeowner’s insurance and $635 -- 11th lowest -- for auto insurance premiums compared to national averages of $1,023 and $815, respectively. The data is from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.
CHS Issues Projections of Quarterly, Annual Results
Tuesday, January 20, 2015FRANKLIN, Tenn. -- Community Health Systems Inc. expects to report net operating revenues of $4.9 billion for the final three months of 2014, the company reports.
The company, which operates ValleyCare Health System of Ohio in northeastern Ohio and Sharon Regional Health System in western Pennsylvania, also projects net operating revenues of $18.6 billion for the year, according to a preview of its fourth quarter and annual results released this morning.
CHS reported net operating revenues of $3.2 billion during the final quarter of 2013 and $12.8 billion for the year.

The story quickly drew the notice of the Breitbart website, which called it a “fawning” profile that failed to note that “Ryan has spent over a decade presiding over one of the Buckeye State’s poorest districts.”

Columbiana Port Authority Adopts $5.57M Budget
Tuesday, January 20, 2015EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio -- The Columbiana County Port Authority adopted a 2015 budget of $5.57 million Monday night after re-electing Charles A. Presley chairman.
Fiscal officer Penny Traina reported the port authority ended 2014 $1.11 million under budget, providing the organization with a healthy surplus to begin this year.
The five-member board also re-elected Keith Chamberlin, retired city manager of the city of Columbiana, vice chairman, Traina fiscal officer and elected attorney Nick Amato of Wellsville secretary.
