Presley Re-elected Chairman of Columbiana Authority
Tuesday, February 25, 2014EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio -- Charles Presley was re-elected chairman of the Columbiana County Port Authority Monday and attorney Nick Amato of Wellsville was seated as the newest member of the five-person board.
Presley is a principal in Group Leaders of America Inc., Salem, a consulting firm.

Autism Society Resource Fair Seeks Participants

Service-providers and other related organizations will have an opportunity to inform visitors with information about their products and/or services from individual booths.
Families affected by autism can meet with these service providers to learn more about autism, disability services and the organizations in the region that support them.

Tuesday, February 25, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Buying fresh, local foods just got easier for residents of the Mahoning Valley, the Lake-to-River Food Cooperative says, because it has begun to offer local milk, eggs, cheese, meats, apples and other foods through its e-commerce website.
The site makes it easy to purchase directly from farmers and producers in northeastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania, the cooperative says.
Dems Blast Kasich Prior to State of State Speech
Monday, February 24, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Members of the tri-county region’s legislative delegation to Columbus this morning took pre-emptive aim at the State of the State Address Gov. John Kasich will deliver in Medina this evening.
During a news conference held at the Mahoning County Justice Center, state Sen. Joe Schiavoni and state Reps. Bob Hagan, Ron Gerberry, Nick Barborak and Tom Letson, all Democrats, criticized the Republican governor on issues ranging from jobs and taxes to voting rights.
Chesapeake to Spin Off Its Oilfield Services Division
Monday, February 24, 2014OKLAHOMA CITY -- Chesapeake Energy Corp. plans to get out of the well-drilling and oilfield services business by either spinning off its Chesapeake Oilfield Services division to shareholders or through “an outright sale.’
The announcement was made this morning.
“A separation of COS is aligned with our strategies of financial discipline and profitable and efficient growth from captured resources,” said Chesapeake’s CEO, Doug Lawler, in a statement.
Kutlick Realty Begins Year with 10 Sales, Leases
Monday, February 24, 2014BOARDMAN, Ohio -- Kutlick Realty LLC has leased or sold more than 200,000 square feet of real estate since the beginning of the year, broker Bill Kutlick reports. The sales and leases cover 10 transactions.
The largest is the sale by Kutlick agent Gary Lasko of the former Delphi Building at 1000 Main St. in Cortland to Maxil Realty Inc. Price was $2.16 million for the 165,000-square-foot building that sits on 33 acres.
“There were three offers on the property” when it went under contract, Kutlick says, and the sale closed within 60 days.

Chemical Investment Linked to Shale Gas Reaches $100B
Monday, February 24, 2014WASHINGTON -- Potential U.S. chemical industry investment linked to natural gas and natural gas liquids from shale formations has topped $100 billion. As of this month, 148 projects valued at $100.2 billion have been announced.
The findings are in a report issued by the American Chemistry Council, a trade association based here.
