WTO Rules for U.S. in China Auto Duties Case
Friday, May 23, 2014WASHINGTON -- The World Trade Organization ruled against China in a case brought by the Obama Administration charging that China levied improper duties on U.S.-manufactured autos exported there. The ruling calls on China to rescind antidumping duties and countervailing duties on American-made auto exports.
Farmers Opens Wealth Management Center
Friday, May 23, 2014CANFIELD, Ohio -- Farmers National Banc Corp. officially opened its Wealth Management Center, 2 Broad St., Thursday as four directors joined senior management and Mayor Bernie Kosar Sr. to snip the broad royal-blue ribbon with a pair of oversized scissors.
Helping the president and CEO, Kevin Helmick, cut the ribbon were directors David Paul, Terry Moore, Greg Bestic and Gregg Strollo, Senior Vice President Mark Graham, Mayor Bernie Kosar Sr., Senior Vice President Amber Wallace, Vice President Dan Cvercko and Executive Vice President Carl Culp.

County Commissioners Closer to Dismantling WRPA
Friday, May 23, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The boards of commissioners in Mahoning and Trumbull counties plan to meet again next week to evaluate their options with regard to the Western Reserve Port Authority, moving the boards one step closer to what commissioners from both counties see as the likely outcome -- dismantling of the port authority’s board of directors.
“We need to keep moving forward and unfortunately we have some roadblocks along the way,” remarked Mahoning County Commissioner David Ditzler.

El Vallarta to Celebrate Grand Opening Tuesday Night
Friday, May 23, 2014POLAND, Ohio -- The Mahoning Valley's newest Mexican Restaurant, El Vallarta, will celebrate its grand opening at 6 p.m. Tuesday, owner Juan Vazquez announced Thursday. The restaurant opened March 30 in the former Lone Star Steakhouse on Boardman-Poland Road.
Vazquez and his family own and manage the restaurant. He has been in the hospitality business 14 years and his family has extensive experience running Mexican restaurants.
City OKs Help for Development Projects
Friday, May 23, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio –The city’s Board of Control voted Thursday to approve a development agreement between the city, Jack Rabbit LLC and Iron and String Life Enhancement to assist with renovations and improvements to two buildings on Fifth Avenue.
