City Council is scheduled to vote tonight to sell pieces of land it owns near the building to allow the sale of the property to move forward.

Sales of Houses Rise, Market Stability: Re/Max
Wednesday, May 21, 2014DENVER -- For the second consecutive month, sales of houses in April were higher than sales in the previous month, Re/Max, a national real estate chain says. While April sales were 10.9% higher than March, they were 7.8% below those in April 2013.
Only two of the 52 metro areas in the April Re/Max National Housing Report had lower sales than the previous month. Year-over-year house prices continued to push higher in April, with a 5.8% increase, which is lower than the 10.7% increase seen in April 2013.
Hynes Eyes $6.5M Project, Gets Ohio Tax Credits
Tuesday, May 20, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Hynes Industries is considering a $6.5 million expansion and consolidation of its manufacturing and distribution facilities here, a project that today received a $108,000 boost from the Ohio Tax Credit Authority.
The seven-year, 40% job creation tax credit was awarded as Hynes considers an expansion and consolidation of its manufacturing and distribution facilities, potentially creating 42 jobs over three years as well as retaining 140 existing personnel.
County, City Jobless Rates Post Declines in April
Tuesday, May 20, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- County and city unemployment rates posted declined in April, down by at least a percentage point from the month before.
The Mahoning Valley’s two largest cities saw their unemployment rates drop by 2 or more percentage points from a year earlier and the three counties saw declines of nearly 2 points over the same period, reports the U.S. Labor Department.
Youngstown’s unemployment rate in April was 7.3 percent, down from 8.3% in March and from 9.7% in April 2013. Warren’s 6.6% rate was down from 7.6% in March and from 8.6% in April 2013.
Pa. Casino Table Games Revenues Up 1% in April
Tuesday, May 20, 2014HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Revenues from the play of table games at Pennsylvania casinos during April was up 1% over revenues generated last year, the state Gaming Control Board reported Monday. Gross revenues generated by 12 casinos was $62,184,790, or $632,456 higher than in April 2013.
Officials Tout Columbiana County's Economic Gains
Tuesday, May 20, 2014LISBON, Ohio -- Columbiana County is poised to enjoy more growth, that growth spurred by new retail business, infrastructure improvements, commercial projects and a steady increase in oil and gas activity.
That's the consensus among 75 economic development, business and political leaders who attended a meeting Monday hosted by six chambers of commerce at the Columbiana County Government Services building.
"The county is perhaps in the best shape it's ever been in," declared county Commissioner Mike Halleck. "We're trying to bring our county into the 21st century."
Globex to Prepare Specs for Wellsville Excavator Crane
Tuesday, May 20, 2014EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio -- If all goes as planned, cells C or G on the Ohio River in Wellsville Intermodal Facility will have at least a conveyor system in place by the end of construction season and could well have an excavator crane as well.
The board of the Columbiana County Port Authority agreed to contract with the Canfield office of Globex Corp., an engineering and consulting firm, to draw up the bidding specifications for the conveyor system and crane by July. The contract would be awarded in August and the work would be completed late this year.
