'Pro-Fracking' Documentary Raises More Than $185,000
Wednesday, April 04, 2012LOS ANGELES -- A controversial documentary is finishing one of the most successful Kickstarter fundraising campaigns, having raised almost $190,000 from 2,700 backers in just 60 days. The feature-length film looks at the process of fracking for natural gas, and examines much of the "scare-mongering surrounding the process," backers say.
Chesapeake's Well Results Show Utica Shale Potential
Tuesday, April 03, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Five commercially producing wells that draw gas and oil from eastern Ohio's Utica shale are likely to produce even more in the future once a processing network is in place, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources reports.
"The numbers could be very high for Ohio," said ODNR spokesman Carlo LoParo. "They could be considerably greater in next year's reporting period."
On Monday, ODNR issued its first annual production report on wells drilled in the Utica shale by Chesapeake Appalachia LLC, a subsidiary of Oklahoma City-based Chesapeake Energy Corp.
