Trumbull United Way Honors Donors, Elects Officers

New Yorker Writer Says Media Ignore Working Class
Wednesday, April 18, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The working class in America is invisible to the vast majority of U.S. reporters, a staff writer for The New Yorker magazine said Tuesday night at Youngstown State University.
Unlike a half century ago, “They no longer speak to and for the working class,” said George Packer, author of the well-received 2005 best seller, The Assassins’ Gate: America in Irag. Assassins was chosen one of the best books of that year by a host of newspapers including The New York Times and the Washington Post.

WYSU-FM Spring Pledge Drive Starts April 24
Tuesday, April 17, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Listener-supported WYSU 88.5 FM, Youngstown State University’s public radio service, will hold its annual spring pledge drive from April 24 through 27. This spring’s drive has an overall fundraising goal of $115,000, the most ever for a WYSU Spring membership drive, officials say.
For the third drive in a row, the on-air portion of the WYSU membership drive will be just 72 hours long.
