Akron Children’s to Operate St. Joe Pediatrics Units
Friday, May 30, 2014WARREN, Ohio -- Akron Children’s Hospital will operate the pediatric unit and special care nursery at St. Joseph Health Center here beginning later this year under an agreement the two hospitals announced Thursday. The agreement expands Akron Children’s commitment to children in the Mahoning Valley, according to the announcement.

St. E’s Among First to Implant New Heart Device
Tuesday, May 13, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Humility of Mary Health Partners is among the first health-care providers in the country to implant a revolutionary new cardiac defibrillator under the skin of patients at risk for sudden cardiac arrest, the health system announced today.
The new device, called an S-ICD, was developed by Cameron Health/Boston Scientific and is the world’s first commercially available subcutaneous implantable defibrillator.
Community Health Systems Nets $4.2B in Revenues
