Brazilian Business Students, Faculty to Visit YSU"

Attorney Colucci Charged with Income Tax Evasion

Colucci, temporarily suspended in June from practicing law by the Ohio Supreme Court, now faces 19 counts of failing to pay personal income taxes as well as federal income taxes he withheld from his employees.The charges were handed down this morning in the form of an information. The case has been assigned to U.S. District Judge Peter C.

Monday, September 27, 2004"TOKYO -- An agreement signed today by Kent State University, Kent, Ohio, and the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology strengthens ties between the facilities, and establishes the exchange of students, faculty, and research, according to Ohio Gov. Bob Taft, who presided over the signing."This agreement will continue to enhance the world-class research being done at Kent State by attracting students and scholars to Northeast Ohio," Taft said later at a Liquid Crystal Symposium organized by the two universities.

Penn State Behrend Completes Technology Installation

"I believe that we are now the first of Penn State's 24 locations to reach 100% technology classrooms," said Jim Carroll, manager of Media and Instructional Services.
CFOs Remain Optimistic on Economy
Monday, September 27, 2004NEW YORK -- Chief financial officers' optimism about the economy and their own companies' financial prospects remains high, virtually unchanged from last quarter, despite continuing high oil prices, relentless increases in health care costs and added expenses required to protect their companies from a possible terrorist attack, according to the September CFO Outlook Survey conducted by Financial Executives International and Baruch College's Zicklin School of Business.Oil prices are hurting earnings at about one out of five companies (19%) overall, the survey found.

Nursing Home Costs Average $192 Per Day in United States
Monday, September 27, 2004WESTPORT, Conn. -- The average daily cost of a private room in a nursing home in the United States is $70,080 per year, or $192 per day, according to the 2004 MetLife Market Survey of Nursing Home and Home Care Costs, released earlier today by the MetLife Mature Market Institute. The highest rates were reported in the state of Alaska, where the cost is $204,765 per year, or $561 per day on average.The lowest rates were found in Shreveport, La., at $36,135 per year or $99 per day. In Ohio and Pennsylvania, the average cost per day in Cleveland is $192 per day.
