McNally's State of the City Address March 7
Friday, February 21, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Youngstown Mayor John McNally will give his first State of the City address at the Regional Chamber’s Good Morning Youngstown breakfast March 7. The event will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Social Hall here.
McNally was elected in November 2013 and has been in office less than two months. He will discuss his new initiatives and priorities for his first year in office.
Kent's First Female MBA Grad Receives Business Award
Friday, February 21, 2014KENT, Ohio -- Kent State University alumna Judith A. Jones is the first honoree of the school's Spirit of Women in Business Award. Jones, a 1964 graduate of the College of Business Administration’s master of business administration program, was the first woman to receive an MBA from the university.
The Spirit of Women in Business Award goes to a Kent State alumna who excels in her profession, paving the way for women in business, and is actively involved with the university.

Port Authority Places DeLeon on Medical Leave
Thursday, February 20, 2014VIENNA TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- Following a lengthy executive session called at the start of its monthly meeting, the board of directors for the Western Reserve Port Authority approved a medical leave of absence, effective Jan. 16, for Rose Ann DeLeon, the port authority’s executive director.
The port authority will pay DeLeon’s medical benefits for a year and she will receive pay for accumulated vacation and sick time, said James Floyd, port authority chairman. The vacation and sick pay she is entitled to is still being calculated, he said.

Retail Sales Expected to Grow 4.1% This Year
Thursday, February 20, 2014WASHINGTON -- Retail industry sales are expected to increase 4.1% this year, up from the preliminary 3.7% growth seen in 2013. Online sales are expected to grow between 9% and 12%.
The sales projections exclude automobiles, gas stations and restaurants.
