December New-Vehicle Sales Top 34,000 in Ohio
Thursday, January 16, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Sales of new cars and trucks rose 15.6% in Ohio in December with dealerships across the state reporting an overall increase compared to the same period in 2012.
The Automobile Dealers Association of Eastern Ohio released its first statewide data report on new and used vehicle sales Wednesday.
According to the report, 650 retail auto dealers said they sold 34,349 new vehicles during the month, compared to 29,702 a year earlier, a 15.5% spike.

UCFC Emerges from Regulatory Probation
Wednesday, January 15, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- United Community Financial Corp., parent of the Home Savings and Loan Co., announced late Tuesday afternoon that the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland has terminated its memorandum of understanding with the one-bank holding company.
The lifting of the memorandum means both parent and subsidiary are completely free of regulatory agreements. The Cleveland Fed’s memorandum with Home Savings was lifted Dec. 4, according to UCFC.
