Tim Thomson, commander of the 910th Airlift Wing based at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station.
Vacation Express to Stop Service from Regional Airport
Wednesday, August 18, 2004YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Vacation Express is discontinuing regularly scheduled passenger service from the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport effective Sept. 7, the company announced late Tuesday.The decision was blamed on the seasonal slowdown in demand for flights to warm weather destinations and negative press accounts of a few instances where flights leaving Youngstown-Warren were delayed -- sometimes for as long as eight hours. Vacation Express is also discontinuing its flights from the Wilkes Barre/Scranton International airport in eastern Pennsylvania.

Wednesday, August 18, 2004YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Mountain View Systems, a portfolio company of the Youngstown Business Incubator, has been awarded a federal research grant under what James E. Cossler, incubator director, called a "very competitive program" within the U.S. Department of Agriculture.The grant will allow the company to examine the efficacy of modifying soy bean oil for use as a deposit control fuel additive in gasoline. Deposit control fuel additives are required by the EPA for all gasoline sold in the United States, Cossler said.

Fully 41% of employed Americans ages 25 to 40 admit to having engaged in an office romance, according to a joint survey sponsored by Glamour magazine and lawyers.com.Co-worker canoodling appears to be on the rise, according to the survey. The vast majority of employed adults (76%) say they think office romances are more common today than they were 10 years ago.
