ODNR Issues 15 New Utica Drilling Permits
Wednesday, December 03, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Ohio Department of Natural Resources issued 15 new horizontal permits for wells in the Utica shale for the week ended Nov. 29, records show.
All of the wells are targeted for the central and southern region of the play where energy companies are having success drilling for natural gas and oil.

Wednesday, December 03, 2014PITTSBURGH -- First National Bank of Pennsylvania has promoted Jennifer M. Reel to senior vice president and named her director of corporate communications, the bank announced Tuesday.
First National Bank is the largest subsidiary of F.N.B. Corp.
Reel, who has been in bank marketing more than 15 years, joined First National Bank in 2000 after a brief stint teaching. She was director of brand and communications strategies at First National Bank before being appointed head of corporate communications.
Kent State Salem Students to Showcase Research

David Dees will deliver the keynote address, “The ‘Aha!’ Moment: Why Your Brain Likes Doing Research” in the student lounge.
Oral presentations are scheduled for 12:30, 2 and 3:30 p.m. in the library. Research posters will be displayed and judged in the student lounge at 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
GM Reports Record November Sales for Cruze
Tuesday, December 02, 2014DETROIT -- The Chevrolet Cruze saw its best November since being introduced in 2008, General Motors Co. said today in its monthly sales report.
The Lordstown-made Cruze sold 22,857 units last month, a 25.6% increase from November 2013. So far this year, 255,260 Cruzes have been sold, compared to 230,062 during the same period last year.

NJ Corp. Pays $5.67M for Two Nursing Homes Here
Tuesday, December 02, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- CareRite Centers LLC, a nursing home operator based in Englewood Cliffs, N.J., has acquired the Beeghly Oaks Nursing Home in Boardman and Pembrooke Place Nursing Home in Youngstown.
The company paid $2.85 million for Beeghly Oaks, a 57,000-square-foot nursing center with 140 beds at 6505 Market St. in Boardman, according to the Mahoning County auditor's office. CareRite renamed the skilled-nursing home Beeghly Oaks Center for Rehabilitation & Healing.
Manufacturers Name City as Training Center Location
Tuesday, December 02, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Proponents of an advanced manufacturing training center have identified Youngstown as the best location for the facility, and this week City Council will consider legislation supporting a grant application that would pay for a feasibility study.
The Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition has been working for several years to identify specific skills gaps in manufacturing and at the advanced levels of career pathways, such as advanced machining and welding coursework, said Jessica Borza, MVMC’s executive director.
