Ryan, Wife Announce Birth of Brady Zetts Ryan
Friday, June 13, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The office of U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan, D-13 Ohio, announced late Friday morning that his wife, Andrea, has delivered the couple’s first child.
Brady Zetts Ryan was born at 8:24 p.m. last night, weighing 6 pounds, 12 ounces, and measuring 19 ¾ inches, according to the news release.
General Motors Promotes Lordstown Plant Manager
Friday, June 13, 2014LORDSTOWN, Ohio -- Robert Parcell, plant manager of the General Motors Co. Lordstown Complex, is promoted to the position of manufacturing manager, GM International Operations Manufacturing, the automaker announced this afternoon. His successor as Lordstown plant manager will be named later.
Parcell, who has been at Lordstown since August 2010, replaces Phill Disch, whose June 1 retirement was announced previously. In his new position, which is effective Sept., he will oversee the Singapore-based operations of 13 manufacturing plants and more than13,000 total employees.
YNDC Names Beniston Its Executive Director

Beniston, previously YNDC’s interim director, succeeds the organization’s founding executive director, Presley Gillespie, who left YNDC last month to accept a position in Pittsburgh. Before joining the YNDC staff, Beniston served as a consultant to its board of directors in the organization’s initial development stages.

3 Groups Share $175K in Wean Foundation Grants
Friday, June 13, 2014WARREN, Ohio -- The Raymond John Wean Foundation has given $175,000 in grants to three community groups, Eastern Ohio Education Partnership, Power of the Arts and Tabernacle Baptist Church, the president of the foundation, Jennifer Roller, announced Thursday.
Eastern Ohio Education Partnership was awarded $125,000, disbursed over two years, to “support organizing activities around education while pooling resources (talent, materials and information) for the shared good,” the press release said.
KSU Officers Lean Training Boot Camp for Local Governments
Friday, June 13, 2014KENT, Ohio -- The Center for Corporate and Professional Development at Kent State University now provides Lean training and consulting for municipal and county governments, the university announced Thursday.
One session will be offered at the Trumbull campus in Champion Township Nov. 17 to 21.
The Local Government Efficiency Program of the state of Ohio is offering funding for local governments to learn and apply Lean strategies to innovate, provide better service and save money.
