Business Owner Fined for Workers' Comp Fraud

Gary Frederick, doing business as Top Notch Diner, pleaded no contest May 7 to charges related to a dishonored check for his premiums payment.

New Business Filings Down in May from Year Ago
Tuesday, June 17, 2014COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Business filings in Ohio last month were down from a year earlier, although flings year-to-date remain ahead of 2013, Secretary of State Jon Husted reported Monday.
In May, 7,820 new entities filed to do business in the state, down from 8,229 in May 2013. For the first five months of the year, the Husted’s office has assisted with 41,594 new business filings, a slight increase from the 40,733 new business filings for the January-May period in 2013.
Pa. Table Games, Casino Revenues Rise in May
Tuesday, June 17, 2014HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Income from the play of table games at Pennsylvania casinos during May was 2.3% higer than revenues in May 2013, he Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported Monday. Gross table games revenue generated by 12 casinos was $64,176,092, or $1,417,594 higher than in May 2013.
With an average of 1,091 tables in operation statewide every day, tax revenues produced last month were $9,231,300, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board said
