CoreLogic Index Shows Housing Prices Rose 2.6% in December

IRVINE, Calif. -- Home prices in the Youngstown-Warren-Boardman metropolitan area, including distressed sales, rose by 2.6% in December compared to a year earlier, CoreLogic reports. On a month-over-month basis, prices in December decreased by 2.8% from November.
Excluding distressed sales, year-over-year prices decreased by 0.1% in December from December 2013, according to CoreLogic’s Home Price Index. Excluding distressed sales, the index indicates home prices decreased on a month-over-month basis by 2.0% in December from November.

Cortland Bancorp Doubles Net Income in 2014

CORTLAND, Ohio -- Cortland Bancorp, holding company of Cortland Banks, Monday reported fourth-quarter net income of $543,000, or 12 cents a share, and full-year 2014 net income of $3.87 million, or 85 cents per share.
This compares with third-quarter net income of $955,000, or 21 cents a share, and a fourth-quarter 2013 net loss of $463,000, or 11 cents a share. Full-year 2013 income was $1.78 million.
Northeast Ohio Gas Prices Show Rise in AAA Index

PITTSBURGH -- Gas prices in Northeast Ohio jumped 15 cents over the past week, as national prices reversed the downward trend that had been the norm in recent months.
AAA East Central’s Fuel Gage report put the price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Northeast Ohio at $2.045 this week, up from $1.893 during the week of Jan. 28 although down from $3.323 during the week of Feb. 4, 2014.
In Youngstown, the average price for a gallon of unleaded self-serve regular is $1.987, AAA reports. In Niles, the price is $2.017.
Talmer Reports 4Q Net Income of $12.5 Million

TROY, Mich. -- Talmer Bancorp Inc., holding company of Talmer Bank and Trust, reports fourth-quarter net income of $12.5 million, or 16 cents per diluted share, and full-year net income of $90.85 million, or $1.30 a share.
These figures compare to third-quarter net income of $19.52 million, or 26 cents per share, fourth-quarter 2013 income of $12.55 million, or 18 cents a share, and full-year 2013 income of $98.56 million, or $1.41 per diluted share.
