Kent State Trumbull to Hold Job Fair Oct. 14

Academy of Science Develops STEM 'Roadmap'
Monday, September 15, 2014COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio Academy of Science has developed a new 'roadmap' intended to guide students to more rewarding futures via an education in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, or STEM.
The roadmap in this case is a chart that serves as a brainstorming tool to help high school students to develop STEM-related commercialization and business plans in a $2 million statewide competition, the academy said.
Work Remains to Meet Minority Vendor Goals
Friday, September 12, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The state of Ohio moved closer to meeting its minority contracting goals in the most recent fiscal year than it has since those guidelines were put in place in 1980, but still has a long way to go.
For the fiscal year ended June 30, the state spent $165 million with minority-owned businesses, or 14.1% of state spending on goods and services. That compares to $106 million in fiscal year 2013, according to data provided by the Ohio Development Services Agency and the Ohio Department of Administrative Services.

7 Days of STEM Festival Kicks Off Monday
