McClendon Company to Drill More in Guernsey, Harrison
Wednesday, December 10, 2014COLUMBUS, Ohio -- American Energy Utica LLC, the company founded by former Chesapeake Energy Corp. CEO Aubrey McClendon, secured 12 new permits for horizontal wells in the Utica shale last week as energy companies showed no let up in their focus on developing the southern portion of that oil and gas play.
American Energy was awarded seven new well permits in Guernsey County and five new permits in Harrison County, according to the latest well permits released by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

Wednesday, December 10, 2014NEW YORK -- Throughout 2014, the U.S. initial public offering market put in its strongest performance since 2000 as a broad range of companies took advantage of strong equity markets and an accommodative financing environment to raise capital, IPO Watch reports.
IPO Watch is a quarterly survey conducted by PwC US, a division of PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Total IPO volume for 2014, as of Dec. 4, reached 288 public company debuts, surpassing the volume of 238 IPOs in 2013 and representing the most active environment for newly listed companies since 2007, IPO Watch said.
GM Helps Salvation Army Make Christmas Merrier
Wednesday, December 10, 2014LORDSTOWN, Ohio -- After several weeks of dropping off toys in their shop cafeteria, workers at the General Motors Lordstown Complex paint shop, both union and salaried, Tuesday saw those many toys sent to the Salvation Army warehouse in Youngstown.
Several bikes, basketballs, Barbie dolls, Lego sets and remote control cars, along with dozens of wrapped presents, were loaded into a truck by paint shop workers around 1 p.m.
Davis Y Seeks Art for Five Squared Benefit

Participants are invited to donate up to four pieces of art, five inches by five inches square. The pieces will be offered for sale beginning Feb. 8 through March 8. Proceeds support scholarships for under-served children in the arts and humanities.

'Smarts Beats' Becomes Next Phase of Arts Program
