Banner Supply Expands South into Liverpool Warehouse
Tuesday, June 03, 2014EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio -- The Columbiana County Port Authority Monday approved a lease with Banner Supply Inc. of Youngstown that allows it to move into space in the Louthan Facility here, 2000 Harvey Ave.
The vote was unanimous, said Tracy Drake, CEO of the port authority. Banner will occupy 11,000 square feet in the building plus some outside storage space for which it will pay $1,800 a month in rent plus up to $500 a month extra for utilities.
The agreement is a month-to-month lease and Banner began moving into the Louthan building Monday morning, Drake said.
DePoy Named Chairman of Northeast Educational TV
Tuesday, June 03, 2014KENT, Ohio -- Bryan DePoy, Ph.D., dean of the College of Creative Arts and Communication at Youngstown State University, has been elected chairman of the board of directors of Northeastern Educational Television of Ohio Inc. He succeds David Hunter, a partner in the law firm of Brouse McDowell, who continues to serve as a board member.

United Way Joins Pizza Hut to Help Success By 6
Tuesday, June 03, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The United Way of Youngstown and Mahoning Valley has joined Pizza Hut to raise funds for Success By 6, a program that helps children be prepared for kindergarten, Bob Hannon, president of United Way says.
For every Personal Pan Pizza sold during June, July and August, Pizza Hut will donate 10% of its net sales to Success By 6.
Last year, the promotion raised more than $6,000 for the Success By 6 initiative, Hannon reports.
US Steel Idles 2 Tubular Mills, Blames Dumping

PITTSBURGH -- United States Steel Corp. says it will “indefinitely idle” its tubular manufacturing facilities in McKeesport, Pa., and Bellville, Texas, in early August, the result of “business conditions which are influenced by unfairly traded tubular products imported into the United States.”
RTI Metals Wins Boeing Dreamliner Contract
Monday, June 02, 2014PITTSBURGH – RTI International Metals Inc. announced today that it’s been chosen by The Boeing Co. to manage and perform expanded titanium parts manufacturing, machining and assembly activities related to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner airplane seat track system.
The contract means that additional titanium parts called for under the agreement will be sourced through RTI’s Titanium Segment using titanium mill product produced at its Niles and Canton, Ohio, plants with extrusion work to be completed at RTI Extrusions in Houston.
Streetscape, BBB Events Draw Volunteers Downtown
Monday, June 02, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Sunny skies, temperatures in the 70s drew larger crowds to the downtown Saturday, the second unofficial weekend of summer, for 17th annual Streetscape and ninth annual Secure Your ID Day.
When Streetscape began at 8 a.m., the cleanup and beautification effort had some 670 volunteers of all ages on hand to work in the downtown Wick Park, Handel's Park and Smokey Hollow, said Sharon Letson, CityScape executive director. CityScape oversees Streetscape.

YSU Business Students Help Companies Export
Monday, June 02, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Student teams from Youngstown State University’s Williamson College of Business Administration recently helped seven companies develop export strategies for products in manufacturing, biotechnology and agriculture. They worked with companies in Ashtabula, Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties.
Each team created an exporting plan, selected countries that would be the best matches for company products and identified 210 foreign distributors, agents and wholesalers in 21 countries.
Health Insurers Charge Higher Premiums on US Exchange
Monday, June 02, 2014COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Individuals are seeing a 13% increase in their premiums on average, small businesses 11%, for health plans sold in 2015 on the federal exchange created by the Affordable Care Act, Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor reports.
The 16 companies filing to sell plans on the exchange in the individual market proposed average premiums of $374.42 versus $332.58 per month per month for the same coverage last year.
