YMCA Memorial 5, Outdoor Spin Set for Saturday
Tuesday, May 21, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The YMCA of Youngstown will hold its annual Memorial 5, a five-mile race, and Memorial Outdoor Spin, a stationary bicycle race, this Saturday. Route of the Memorial 5 takes runners through the streets of downtown Youngstown and Mill Creek Park.
The Memorial 5 begins at 9 a.m. and the cost is $20, which covers registration and a race shirt. There will also be a free Kids’ Race at 8:30 a.m., says event coordinator Maureen Horvath.
Kent State Taps Sines as Dean of Its STEM College
Monday, May 20, 2013KENT, Ohio -- The dean and chief administrative officer of the Trumbull campus of Kent State University, Robert Sines, has been named interim dean of the university’s college of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Sines will serve in that post through June 30, 2015, said Todd A. Diacon, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs.

Robert Douglas Lawler, senior vice president, international and deepwater operations at Anadarko Petroleum, will join Chesapeake as CEO and a member of the board of directors, the company announced this morning. Lawler's appointment is effective June 17; he succeeds Aubrey K. McClendon.

Solar FlexRack Provides System for N.J. Dairy Farm

Balford Farms, a dairy product warehouse and distribution facility in Burlington, N.J., had sought to use solar power to help offset its needs for power, which is required to keep its products refrigerated or frozen around the clock.

Retail Sales Rebounding as Consumers More Confident

Retail sales (excluding automobiles, gas stations and restaurants) rose 0.6% seasonally adjusted from last month and increased 3.9% unadjusted year-over-year.
